The Course has great similarities to the desert courses of Las Vegas and Arizona also designed by Jack Nicklaus, but with a philosophy of linked holes. It is characterized by undulating fairways between sand dunes and greens with impressive mouldings, a few bunkers and a large central lake. The greens at Saurines are some of the best in the area, many of them are uphill from the fairway which adds a touch of difficulty at approach time. The course is in position No. 39 of the Best Courses in Spain, classified by "Top 100 Golf Courses".
