Palmares Golf is located on the Algarve coastline near Lagos. The original 18-hole course opened in 1975, making it one of the Algarve's older courses. It was completely redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and reopened as a 27-hole facility in 2011.
The 27 holes are divided into three nine-hole loops: Alvor, Lagos, and Praia. Each loop offers a mix of parkland and links-style holes. The course features significant elevation changes and views over the Bay of Lagos and the Alvor Estuary. The Praia loop provides a pure links experience adjacent to the ocean.
Palmares offers a challenging and diverse golfing experience for various skill levels. A modern clubhouse with a restaurant is also on-site.
